Job Description
Material Planner/Receiving Supervisor
This non-automotive, nonunion manufacturer is currently looking for a material planner/receiving supervisor. While others in the industry are stagnant, this company has grown by leaps and bounds, with their most profitable year in 2009. As the material planner/receiving supervisor you will purchase parts and components from established vendors, schedule logistics of product, utilize and maximize the Kanban system, ensure inventory levels are reasonable and accurate, and manage receiving of all product and putting into inventory. You will report daily to the purchasing manager and have up to 7 direct reports depending on the time of year. Candidates must be able to communicate well with vendors and floor personnel, be flexible in requirements, focus on continuous improvement, practice problem solving techniques and take ownership of projects. The right candidate will enjoy spending up to 50% of their time on the floor and overseeing others. This is a first shift position with the ability to monitor activities on the off shift as well.
Required skills/background for the material planner/receiving supervisor:
1. A minimum of a high school diploma with 8-10 years experience in a purchasing role at a manufacturing facility or an associates degree with 3-5 years experience in a purchasing role at a manufacturing facility
2. Experience purchasing up to 200 SKUs
3. Supervision experience
4. Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
